Maailma on sana 

VISUAL IDENTITY / EXHIBITION DESIGN

Visual identity for an exhibition held in the National Library of Finland. The exhibition,
“World is a word”, celebrated the history of finnish aphorism. Earliest works on display were
from the 18th century. The exhibition was in six floors high Rotunda, over a hundred years old, beautifully decorated annex building, so I wanted the identity to have a clear and modern look.
I used a rigid sans serif and a simple blue-pink colour palette to stand out from the darkwood
and beige tones of the interior. Rotunda has a striking feature: an elliptical open middle space
that cuts through the floors. I designed a tall banner that was hung over the railing,
so that it was the first thing you saw when you entered the space.
